The KODE5 took place down under this weekend - Seeing Immunity winning the KODE5 Australia Regional Finals. One team that drew quite some attention at World Cyber Games 2008 was the Australian team Immunity. Lead by Ferguson "Ferg" Stephenson, the team was able to take one map against GamePlay (now Crack Clan), but unfortunately it was not enough to advance. The team did however participate at the KODE5 Australia Regional Finals this weekend at IbisQ LAN in Melbourne. Two non-Australian teams had even found their way, as Parallax from New Zealand and TitaNs from Singapore was onsite to fight for the so ever wanted spot at KODE5 Global Finals.
Either of the international teams should however make it to the final. TitaNs made it to the semi, where Immunity knocked them out with a 2:1 win. In the final Immunity faced the Australian team Encore, the two should battle out who to go to Moscow in May. Immunity should lose the first map being inferno, 16:6 to their countrymen and really had to turn tables in order to keep their hope of the ticket to Moscow. Second map dust2 should be very even, going down to the very last round to determine overtime or Immunity win. Immunity was able to secure the round and win dust2 with 16:14. All deciding map nuke, went to Immunity without too many problems. A 16:6 victory and Immunity secured declared winners of KODE5 Australia Regional Finals.
